Flag Facts Friday
Canada
Oh, Canada? The flag of this country is still notable for its design.
This flag features a maple leaf smack dab in the middle of the design, chosen to symbolize Canadian pride. The flag has bright red stripes on each side of the maple leaf. The red is meant to be a symbol of prosperity, while the white represents the open-mindedness and peacefulness of the nation.
It was originally designed by historian, author, teacher, and solider George F. G. Stanley and has been in use since the 1900s. This flag's red and white color scheme certainly pops when you're displaying international flags.
